Hey Bert!

I just dropped by your blog from a link from DA, and I have to say you're pretty talented. Excellent street work. I love the ones with framing through crowds where the subject isn't always in the foreground. I know, an elementary comment, but I still admire your work. I haven't had the opportunity to do much of it where I'm from. I'll keep an eye on your stuff!

Hey Bert (that's your name!)
Bedankt om me even terug te katapulteren naar de Gentse Feesten. I enjoyed it.

Je begeeft je echt tussen mensen als je fotografeert, je staat er niet boven ofzo, je zit er gewoon knal middenin. Het is alsof je focust op dingen die je als feestganger ook zou opmerken, maar toch dat beetje mooier vastgelegd.

Knap.

i had a lab scan my negs.. and apparently they sometimes leave the neg border on one side. sometimes i didn't even notice it.. and if i'd noticed, i'd probably be too lazy to remove them *blush*

best option would be if i had a scanner of my own. i'm saving up money for an epson 4990, but i think it'll still take me a while before i can afford it :(

as for the image size.. it's on medium size at the moment to shorten loading times. this post contains about 50 images... and i don't think people with 56k connections would appreciate it if i put the image size on large :)

my favorite by far is http://blog.bertwynant.net/img/2007/08/25F1000026.jpg - like how you used the crowd to frame him and how he's in his thoughts opposed to the people watching something.

http://blog.bertwynant.net/img/2007/08/39F1000029.jpg is good too. think it's her expression (+not sleeping old people for a change) plus her bike and how the tires form an arch just like those above the windows in the background.

http://blog.bertwynant.net/img/2007/08/45F1000033.jpg is nice too. nothing too special but a nice portrait, you must have been pretty close for that one.

why do you leave the neg borders in some of the scans? have seen that in a few blogs/photo posts now and i really don't get why one would leave the border, especially just on one side. art?

and set the image size in posts to "big", it appears to me you're using the middle size.
